Sunlighten’s Full-Spectrum Infrared Heating Technology
Jan 18th
While the exterior design of an infrared sauna is important – and we here at Sunlighten are very proud of our beautiful wood and finishes – your inquiry can’t stop there. When shopping for an infrared sauna, you MUST consider the heater itself. The quality and efficiency of the infrared heat technology inside the sauna is paramount to achieving all of the health and wellness benefits you’re seeking.
There are a lot of differences between Sunlighten infrared saunas and the others on the market but the most important one is the actual heater. Our Sunlighten infrared saunas use cutting-edge Solocarbon® Heating Technology.

Anti-Aging Benefits of Near Infrared Heat
Aug 21st
Introduced in 2010, Sunlighten’s advanced Solocarbon Custom Spectrum heater is the only heater on the market capable of producing near infrared (NIR) light using LED technology. What’s the big deal about NIR, you ask? Near infrared waves have a shorter frequency range with the ability to penetrate the epidermis layer of the skin making it optimal for skin rejuvenation, wound healing and skin health. Add these effects to the muscle recovery benefits of far infrared heat and Sunlighten’s mPulse full spectrum infrared sauna is a terrific anti-aging tool.
Solocarbon Full Spectrum has advanced LEDs to provide true near infrared at a consistent output. Others More >
Wound Healing with Near Infrared LEDs from Sunlighten
Jan 22nd
About ten years ago, researchers and physicians from NASA and the Medical College of Wisconsin conducted research on the effects of near infrared (NIR) LED light on wound healing. The research team concluded that NIR LED light significantly promotes faster cell regeneration, wound healing and human tissue growth. Human cell growth increased by 155%-171% in some cases and wound size decreased by 36%. (fn. 1)
Introduced in 2010, Sunlighten’s advanced Solocarbon Custom Spectrum heater is the only heater on the market capable of producing near infrared (NIR) light using LED technology. This is the same technology used in the NASA/Medical College More >
Sunlighten Reviews: Mike M. Loves the mPulse

We often receive notes from customers that make us smile. Last week, we opened our email to find some correspondence that makes us beam. Customer Mike M. in New York sent this gracious email, after having been very patient during a shipping delay. Mike receive his mPulse custom spectrum infrared sauna and had this to say about the experience and the sauna:
I promised that if you could address the problems and resolve them that I would write a nice note. So I am delighted to be able to write that everything is working! Yes, I did panic after the sauna arrived More >
Studies Show Healing Effects of Near Infrared LED Technology
Jan 11th
In a recent newsletter, Dr. Mark Hyman referenced a clinical study on near-infrared light that we thought you might like to know a little more about. The study, Photobiomodulation directly benefits primary neurons functionally inactivated by toxins: Role of cytochrome c oxidase¹, was published about five years ago in the Journal of Biological Chemistry (an academic medical journal published by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology).
Low-intensity light therapy, commonly referred to as “photobiomodulation,” uses light in the far-red (note that this is NOT far-infrared) to near-infrared region of the spectrum and changes some cellular functions.
The researchers believed that far-red and More >
