Although February is traditionally one of the coldest, snowiest months of the year here in the Midwest, it’s one of our favorites months here at Sunlighten! That’s because February is Heart Month. Sunlighten is a longtime supporter of the American Heart Association. We donate a portion of our sales each February to the AHA, we participate in a number of local AHA – Kansas City fundraisers each year and our owners Aaron and Connie Zack have served on the board of directors for our local AHA chapter.

Using Infrared Sauna to Reduce Stroke Risk

May is American Stroke and High Blood Pressure Awareness Month – 31 days dedicated by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to increasing awareness of strokes, stroke risk factors and reducing those risks.
There are several risk factors for stroke, including a few that can be helped with regular infrared sauna use. Talk to your doctor to find out if you have any of these health risks. Then, work together with your doctor to develop a plan that’s right for you.

Yes, we do get out of the office and the showroom from time to time! Last week, some ladies from the Sunlighten (and Sunlight Day Spa) team attended the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon here in Overland Park.

The luncheon is an annual event that we are very proud to support each year. As you may know, heart health is a particular passion for us here at Sunlighten.
